The newspapers and world leaders reacted, Twitter exploded with messages expressing deep sadness from millions of Apple fans, the whole tech community mourned. We realized that we lost a rare gem today.

While it’s unfortunate that I haven’t personally experienced any Apple product due to my economic circumstances when I was still in the Philippines, I’ve witnessed for years from my direct friends and tech correspondents how they strongly admired Apple products and how they became Apple loyalists. I’ve also witnessed friends who became total Apple converts after they experienced their products.

We at Tech Conclave have always been there to report whenever Apple releases new products.
These consistent observations led me to a conclusion some time ago: that many if not all of the Apple products redefined the way people live their lives, that they are really great, and really awesome – and the man behind them is Steve Jobs.

Steve Jobs has changed our lives through the devices he conceived and gave us inspiration to do something new, to produce something great, while keeping things simple. While sometimes there are divisions in the tech community, we at Tech Conclave believe that we all admire Steve Jobs’ ingenuity. We recognize that he is one of the greatest inventors of our time and a creative genius that will make this generation to continue to think differently.

We believe that his ideas will continue to dwell in our hearts and minds. His leadership in the tech industry and innovation underlines why we all feel great and proud to be geeks and technology enthusiasts. We share his mindset to do great things for the world through technology. The tech world will be never be the same again without him.

It’s good to be a geek.

The Thunderbolt is a high-speed interconnect technology developed by Intel and Apple that can transfer data between host computers and external devices at up to 10 GB/sec as compared to 5 GB/sec with USB 3.0.

Introduced in February 2011, the technology was initially licensed to Apple and debuted on Macs but Intel said it would make it available to PC makers at a later date.

The adoption of Thunderbolt interface by Acer and Asus could encourage other PC manufacturers to do the same. Hewlett-Packard, the world’s top PC maker, decided to stick to USB 3.0 because of the wide range of peripherals available.

The preliminary injunction is only effective in European countries where Apple successfully completed local registrations of its patents namely Germany, Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
On the other hand, the injunction ban on Galaxy Tabs issued by a judge in Germany will remain to be in place until September 9 when the judge will deliver its ruling after hearing arguments from Samsung.

The ban means that tablet device will be absent in IFA, Europe’s biggest consumer electronics fair consumer electronics show, troubling Samsung. In its preliminary injunction the judge said that there were “overarching similarities” between Samsung Tab and the Apple’s iPad.

The timing of the announcement prompted concerns of Steve Job’s health as he was diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer in 2004. In January 2009, the Apple founder took a leave of absence and it later emerged that he had undergone a liver transplant. Steve Jobs since early this year has been on extended medical leave to focus on his health.

In his resignation letter, Mr. Jobs wrote, “I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.”
Apple shares fell more than 4 percent in pre-market trading after the announcement. Conversely, the shares of Samsung, Apple’s most recognizable competitor in the tablet and smartphone markets, rose sharply.

However, there have been some rising issues with Steve Jobs’ recent liver transplant. Not an issue at his own personal health, but rather an issue on just how fast he was able to get his transplant. With so many patients in line for a liver transplant such as Steve Jobs, are those with enough money able to “jump” ahead of the list? Another detail that was rather odd in Steve Job’s transplant is the surgery took place at a hospital in Tennessee, 2,000 miles from Jobs’ home in northern California, but why Tennessee?

While many questions still leave us answered, we are glad to see Steve Job’s recovering and also healthy and well to this day.

Safari 4 has in fact, already topped 11 million downloads in its first three days of its release. A download mark very impressive considering that more than 6 million of its downloads were from Windows-based users. Although this is a very high number, it didn’t get anywhere near Firefox’s number of downloads for 3.0.11, pulling 150 million downloads in 24 hours, as Mozilla’s Asa Dotzler reported. With more than 300 million active users of Firefox, Mozilla is still miles ahead of Safari and Internet Explorer in terms of its users and community.

With so much competition between these major browsers, there is still a decision to make in choosing one, while Microsoft resorts to charitable donations to make its Internet Explorer browser downloads increase, and Apple claims misleading Safari download numbers, Firefox wins because it’s simply better. .
